Dear Barry,
I was absolutely delighted to receive the images on screen of my
grandfather on Xmas day on your website. I was amazed that you could
digitally restore the photos to such an extent and I am looking
forward to seeing actual prints of them.
The
photos must be 90 - 100 years old as the gentleman passed away in
1916 and he was about 56 - he looks fairly mature at the time of
the photos but it is hard to tell exactly what with the fashion
for beards, isn't it? It is possible that the photos were not taken
at the same time.
The
3rd photo (to be done) is not as worn but could have been properly
framed - unlike the others. My grandmother lived another 50 years
and died I think at 93. Being a poor widow she would not have been
able to afford proper framing. He, .......... ............., worked
as accountant/sales manager I think, at the Evening Post and died
suddenly of a heart attack.
Thankyou for all the time-consuming work you put into restoring
the photo images. It is most appreciated and I was pleased that
........ was able to track you down. It was a lovely surprise and
a great Xmas present from ........ to me and ultimately our children.

Are you not as attractive as you think you should be in your
photograph? Or are you at the age when you wouldn't mind turning
